We had a chance to talk to the builder of this special residence, Wes Schuman, owner of Red Oak Properties, to get the details on how the dream was achieved.

24 new townhomes coming to Trappe

TRAPPE — Twenty four townhouses in downtown Trappe have been approved by the town and are slated to be built and sold this year.

The homes will be constructed off Maple Avenue, just behind the small W. Maple Avenue commercial strip, which hosts the hairdresser Inspire Salon, office space for Habitat for Humanity, and four other companies.

Red Oak Point Investments built the W. Maple Avenue commercial strip and finished the job in 2020. The infrastructure was already there, as the building was originally built around 2006, but it was foreclosed in 2007 until Red Oak and other investors bought the property up.

Trappe embraces downtown revitalization

TRAPPE — Walking through downtown, one sees dining, workplace, shopping, and real estate options as the revitalization of Trappe has come in full swing.

With the opening of Momma Maria’s, Coffee Trappe, the headquarters of Habitat for Humanity, and the expansion of Salon Inspire, tourists and residents now have places to go and live.

Tom Mitchell, the owner of several buildings in the area including Momma Maria’s and Coffee Trappe, has owned a farm on Chancellor Point for the past 20 years and has spent much of that time back and forth from there and Easton.
